How to Draw a Winged Cat

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a winged cat in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

In the middle, draw a big egg on its side. Puff out the cheeks with 2 tiny fur points each.

Tip Leave room on both sides for the wings.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

Draw a tall pointy ear on each top corner of the head. Add a small triangle inside each one.

Tip Ears lean out a little, like a cat listening.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

In the middle of the head, draw 2 big oval eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots and white shines.

  4. Step 4: Nose, smile, whiskers

Under the eyes, draw a small triangle nose. From its point, draw a W smile. Add 2 whiskers each side.

Tip Keep the whiskers short, inside the cheeks.

  5. Step 5: Plump body

Start under each cheek. Draw a big C down and round to meet in the middle at the bottom.

Tip The body is never wider than the head.

  6. Step 6: Front legs

Start under the chin and draw a U leg down to a mitten paw. Add a paw curve and toes.

Tip Wide at the top, thin at the ankle. Draw both legs.

  7. Step 7: Curly tail

On the right of the body, draw a thick tail down low that curls up to a round tip.

Tip Thick at the body, thin at the tip.

  8. Step 8: Back paws and ground

Under each side, draw a bun paw tucked behind the front paw. Add toes. Draw the ground under the paws.

Tip Back paws poke out sideways so the cat really sits.

  9. Step 9: Wing tops

From behind the head, beside each ear, draw a long arch up and out to a wing tip.

Tip The 2 wing tops open like a wide V.

  10. Step 10: Finger feathers

From each wing tip, draw 5 round feathers, like fat U bumps, stepping down to the cat's shoulder.

Tip 5 even bumps, like the fingers of a mitten.

  11. Step 11: Small feathers

Inside each wing, draw a row of 4 U bumps under the top edge, out to the tip.

  12. Step 12: Sky-blue wings

Colour the 2 wings sky blue, right up to the cat.

  13. Step 13: Cream and pink

Colour the chest between the front legs cream, and all 4 paws. Colour inside each ear pink.

  14. Step 14: Colour the fur ginger

Colour the head, ears, body, legs and tail ginger, around the cream and pink. Leave the eyes white.
