How to Draw Windsor Castle

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw Windsor Castle in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the grassy mound.

Print

  1. Step 1: The grassy mound

Draw a big flat-topped hill low down. Start on the left, curve up and across, stop on the right.

Tip Stop level with where you started.

  2. Step 2: The round tower

From the flat top's left draw a toothed tower up, across and down to the right. Add a flag.

Tip Square teeth on top, and a tall flagpole in the middle with a flag.

  3. Step 3: Walls and ground

On each side of the mound draw a low wall with 3 square teeth. Rule a ground line under them.

  4. Step 4: Square end towers

At the outer end of each wall draw a square tower with teeth, about twice as tall as the wall.

  5. Step 5: Windows and gate

Draw 3 arched windows on the round tower, 1 on each square one. Add a gate in the right wall.

Tip The gate stands on the ground between the mound and the tower.

  6. Step 6: A curved band

Draw a band across the round tower under the windows. Start on its left side, stop on its right.

Tip Curve it down in the middle, so the tower looks round.

  7. Step 7: A tree

By the left wall draw a bumpy round treetop, then a short trunk from it down to the ground.

Tip Keep the treetop a little below the teeth.

  8. Step 8: The sun

Draw a small sun high on the right with short rays all round.

  9. Step 9: A cloud

Draw a puffy cloud high on the left: little bumps over the top and a flatter line underneath.

  10. Step 10: Green mound and tree

Colour the mound and the treetop leaf green, and the flag red.

  11. Step 11: Stone castle

Colour the round tower, walls and square towers stone grey, around the windows, gate and tree.

  12. Step 12: Sky windows, wooden gate

Colour the windows sky blue, and the gate and tree trunk wood brown.

  13. Step 13: Yellow sun, white cloud

Colour the sun yellow and the cloud white. Go over all your lines and your Windsor Castle is done!
