How to Draw a Wilted Flower
Draw a wilted flower in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: bent stem.
Step 1: Bent stem
Draw a tall stem, 2 lines wide, that bends over at the top and droops down a little.
Tip Make the bend big and round, like a walking stick.
Step 2: The middle
Over the drooping tip of the stem draw a wide oval, as big as an egg lying down.
Tip It is wider than it is tall, because the flower hangs its head.
Step 3: Three hanging petals
Start on the bottom of the oval. Draw 3 long plump petals hanging down, each back to the oval.
Tip They hang limp, like floppy rabbit ears.
Step 4: Two side petals
From each side of the oval draw a petal that goes out, then sags down.
Step 5: Two top petals
From each top corner of the oval draw a shorter petal that flops over sideways.
Tip Leave the very top bare, where the stem comes in.
Step 6: Droopy leaves
Draw a fat pointed leaf hanging down from each side of the stem, one higher and one lower.
Tip Point both tips at the ground. Thirsty leaves hang down.
Step 7: Leaf veins
From the stem, draw one curved vein along each leaf, stopping just short of the tip.
Step 8: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line across the bottom of the paper, through the bottom of the stem.
Step 9: Grass
A little way out from each side of the stem, flick 2 grass blades up from the ground line.
Step 10: Fallen petals
Under the flower, draw 2 little petals lying on the ground, each round with one soft point.
Tip They have dropped off, so the flower has 7 petals left.
Step 11: Yellow middle
Colour the oval middle of the flower yellow.
Step 12: Pink petals
Colour all 7 hanging petals pink. Colour the 2 fallen petals pink too.
Step 13: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem and both droopy leaves green. Go over your lines, and your wilted flower is done!
