How to Draw a Wildebeest
Draw a wildebeest in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long head.
Step 1: Long head
Near the top left, draw a long head like a tall box with round corners and a wide bottom.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Eyes and nose
Draw 2 big eyes up high. Curve a nose line across the bottom. Add 2 nostrils and a smile.
Tip Give each eye a black dot and a white shine.
Step 3: Horns and ears
From the top corners, draw 2 horns sweeping out and hooking up. Add a small leaf ear under each.
Step 4: Humped body
From behind the head, draw a tall hump, a sloping back, a round bottom and a tummy to the chin.
Tip The hump is the highest part of the back.
Step 5: Two legs
Draw a ground line. From the chest and the bottom, draw 2 thin legs down to split hooves.
Tip Each hoof is a little doorstop with a split up the middle.
Step 6: Far legs
Add 2 thinner legs peeking out from behind, one beside each near leg, with hooves on the ground.
Step 7: Tail and tuft
From the top of the round bottom, draw a thin tail hanging down to a long tuft of hair.
Step 8: Shaggy mane
Start behind the head. Draw a mane of soft bumps along the top of the neck and over the hump.
Step 9: Long beard
Under the chin, draw a long shaggy beard hanging down, with 3 soft points at the bottom.
Step 10: Colour it grey
Go over your lines. Colour the horns, ears, body, legs and thin tail grey.
Step 11: Dark face and hair
Colour the face, mane, beard, tail tuft and hooves dark grey. Leave the eyes white.
