How to Draw a Chibi Cat

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a chibi cat in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

Near the top, draw a big egg on its side. Puff out the cheeks with 2 tiny fur points each.

Tip A chibi head is about half of the whole cat.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

Draw a tall pointy ear on each top corner of the head. Add a small triangle inside each one.

  3. Step 3: Big shiny eyes

Halfway down the head, draw 2 huge oval eyes. Add a ring, a black pupil and 2 shines in each.

Tip Huge shiny eyes make it chibi.

  4. Step 4: Nose and W smile

Between the eyes, a little lower, draw a tiny upside-down triangle nose. From its point, draw a W smile.

  5. Step 5: Tiny body

Start under each cheek. Draw a small C down and round to meet in the middle at the bottom.

Tip The body is much smaller than the head.

  6. Step 6: Front legs

Start under the chin and draw a U leg down to a mitten paw. Add a paw curve and toes.

Tip Short legs, big paws. Draw both legs.

  7. Step 7: Back paws

Under each side, draw a small bun paw tucked behind the front paw. Add 1 toe on each.

Tip Back paws poke out sideways so the cat really sits.

  8. Step 8: Curly tail

On the right of the body, draw a thick tail along the ground that curls up to a round tip.

Tip Thick at the body, thin at the tip.

  9. Step 9: Whiskers and stripes

From each cheek, draw 2 whiskers out past the head. Add 3 short stripes hanging down between the ears.

  10. Step 10: Ground line

Start left of the paws. Draw a flat ground line under them and stop past the tail.

  11. Step 11: Cream and pink

Colour the chest and 4 paws cream. Colour the nose, inside the ears and 2 round cheeks pink.

  12. Step 12: Green eyes

Colour the rings in the eyes green, around the black pupils. Leave the shines and eye whites white.

  13. Step 13: Ginger fur

Colour the rest of the cat ginger, around the cream, the pink and the eyes. Your chibi cat is done!
