How to Draw a Chamois

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a chamois in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top left of your paper draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.

Tip A big head is what makes it cute. Leave room on the right.

  2. Step 2: Eyes and nose

Draw 2 big eyes with dots and shines. From a triangle nose draw a line down to a w smile.

  3. Step 3: Horns and ears

Above each eye draw a short horn standing up, hooked at the tip. Add a leaf ear on each corner.

  4. Step 4: Mask stripes

From under each horn draw a stripe that goes behind the eye and stops by the smile.

Tip The eye sits on top of the stripe, so stop your lines at the eye.

  5. Step 5: The neck

Behind the head draw the neck line down right. From the chin draw a line straight down to the chest.

Tip The neck grows from behind the head, not off the chin.

  6. Step 6: The body

Start at the bottom of the neck. Draw a big bean body round and back up to the neck.

Tip A bean, not a loaf: the bottom is rounder and higher than the chest.

  7. Step 7: 2 legs

Draw a front leg with a knee and a back leg that bends back. End each in a split hoof.

  8. Step 8: The far legs

Draw 2 thinner legs peeking out, one behind the front leg and one in front of the back leg.

  9. Step 9: The tail

On the top corner of the bottom draw a short tuft of tail, pointing up and back.

  10. Step 10: The ledge

Draw a ledge from the left edge to behind the back hooves. Drop a cliff line down to the bottom.

Tip The chamois stands on a rock ledge with the cliff dropping away behind.

  11. Step 11: Tan chamois

Colour the ear insides peach and the chamois tan. Leave the stripes, tail, hooves and eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Grey and black

Colour the rock grey, the stripes and tail dark grey, and the horns and hooves black.
