How to Draw a Wild West Town
Draw a wild west town in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ground.
Step 1: The ground
Near the bottom of your paper draw a long straight ground line from left to right.
Step 2: The saloon
Start on the ground, go up, across and down; stop on the ground. Add a curved sign on top.
Tip Draw it in the middle and make it the tallest building in town.
Step 3: The sheriff's office
From the saloon's left wall go left and down to the ground. Add a flat step on top.
Step 4: The store
From the saloon's right wall go right and down to the ground. Add a pointy top.
Step 5: The porch roof
Across the saloon draw a slanted porch roof, wider at the bottom. Draw 2 posts down to the ground.
Tip The posts hold the roof up over the wooden walkway.
Step 6: Swing doors
Between the posts draw a doorway from the ground. Inside it draw 2 little swing doors with a gap between.
Tip Swing doors are short: leave a gap above and below them.
Step 7: Windows
Draw 2 windows high on the saloon, a barred window on the office and a crossed window on the store.
Step 8: Doors and a star
Give the office and the store a door. Draw a star on the office and a sign on the store.
Tip A star has 5 points. It shows where the sheriff works.
Step 9: A cactus
On the right, start on the ground and draw a cactus with 2 bent arms. Stop on the ground.
Tip Give the trunk and both arms round tops.
Step 10: The sun
In the top left corner draw a round sun with 8 short rays.
Step 11: Yellow and sky blue
Colour the sun, the star and the swing doors yellow. Colour all the windows sky blue.
Step 12: Cream and tan
Colour the saloon wall cream. Colour the office and the store tan, around the windows and the star.
Tip Leave the porch roof, the posts, the doors and the signs white for now.
Step 13: Brown and green
Colour the porch roof, posts, doorway, doors and signs brown. Colour the cactus green. Go over your lines!
