How to Draw the Great Wall of China
Draw the Great Wall of China in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two hills.
Step 1: Two hills
Start at the left edge. Draw a small hill, a dip and a bigger hill. Stop at the right edge.
Tip Keep each hilltop flat, where a tower will stand.
Step 2: First watchtower
On the small hilltop draw a tall box tower with 3 square teeth along its top.
Step 3: Second watchtower
On the big hilltop draw a taller, wider tower the same way, with 3 square teeth.
Step 4: The long wall
Start at the left edge. Draw the wall top with square teeth, tower to tower, across to the right edge.
Tip Keep the wall a finger above the hills. Stand each tooth straight up, like stairs.
Step 5: Doors and windows
At the bottom of each tower draw an arched door. Above each door draw a small square window.
Step 6: Two trees
Near the bottom corners draw 2 bumpy tree tops, each with a short trunk underneath.
Step 7: The sun
In the top left corner draw a round sun with 8 short rays.
Step 8: Yellow sun, tan towers
Colour the sun yellow and both towers tan, around the doors and windows.
Step 9: Grey wall
Colour the wall and all its teeth grey, up to the towers.
Step 10: Green hills
Colour the hills leaf green around the trees, all the way down to the bottom.
Step 11: Trees and doors
Colour the tree tops dark green, and the trunks, doors and windows brown. Your Great Wall is done!
