How to Draw a Two Point Perspective
Draw a two point perspective in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: horizon and dots.
Step 1: Horizon and dots
Draw a straight line across the middle of your paper. Put a dot near each end.
Tip The line is the horizon. Every slanted edge will aim at one of the 2 dots.
Step 2: Corner line
Start above the horizon, halfway between the dots. Draw a line straight down and stop well below it.
Tip This is the nearest corner of the house.
Step 3: Lines to dots
Draw light straight lines from the top and the bottom of the corner line to both dots.
Tip Use a ruler if you have one.
Step 4: Two wall ends
On each side, start on the top light line, draw straight down and stop on the bottom one.
Tip Wall ends never lean. Go over the slanted edges between them and the corner.
Step 5: Find the middle
On the right wall, draw a light X from corner to corner, then a light line up through its middle.
Step 6: Roof point
Start high on the upright light line. Draw a line down to each top corner of the right wall.
Step 7: Roof ridge
From the roof point, aim a line at the left dot. Stop above the far wall, then slant down.
Tip Slant down to the far wall's top corner, leaning the same way as the near roof edge.
Step 8: Window
On the left wall, draw a window: sides straight up and down, top and bottom aiming at the left dot.
Step 9: Door
From the right wall's bottom edge, draw a door: up, across aiming at the right dot, down to the edge.
Tip Add a dot for the doorknob.
Step 10: Blue and yellow
Rub out the light lines. Colour the window sky blue and the left wall yellow around it.
Step 11: Orange side wall
Colour the right wall orange, up into the roof point and around the door.
Step 12: Roof and door
Colour the roof navy and the door red. Your house looks solid, and every slanted edge aims at a dot!
