How to Draw a Waving Person
Draw a waving person in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room on the right of the head for the waving hand.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes, a tiny nose and a smile. From each side draw a C ear, back to it.
Step 3: Soft hair cap
Start on the left of the head. Draw soft tufts over the top and stop on the right.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 neck lines under the chin. From the left one draw the T-shirt round and stop at the right.
Step 5: Both arms
From the left sleeve draw an arm down. From the right sleeve draw a bent arm up to eye height.
Tip Bend the right arm like an L: out to the elbow, then up.
Step 6: Hands
Draw a mitten on the left arm. On the waving arm draw an open hand with 4 finger bumps.
Step 7: Waving lines
Round the top right of the hand draw 3 short curved lines to show it waving hello.
Step 8: Trousers
Start at the bottom left of the T-shirt. Draw 2 long trouser legs down and stop at the bottom right.
Step 9: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Green T-shirt, blue trousers
Colour the T-shirt and the sleeves green and the trousers blue.
Step 12: Brown hair and shoes
Colour the hair and the shoes brown. Your waving person is done!
