How to Draw a Watermelon with a Face
Draw a watermelon with a face in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the slice.
Step 1: The slice
Draw a flat line near the top. From its left end, curve down and round, up to the right end.
Tip The flat cut edge is the top, rind at the bottom.
Step 2: Two big eyes
A bit below the flat top, draw 2 big egg eyes far apart. Colour big black dots, leaving white shines.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile to the right eye. Add a cheek at each end.
Step 4: The rind
A finger inside the big curve, draw a second curve from the left end round to the right end.
Step 5: White band
Just inside the second curve, very close, draw a third curve from end to end for the thin white band.
Step 6: Four seeds
Draw 4 little oval seeds on the inside: one near each top corner and one beside each eye.
Tip Keep the seeds away from the face and off the lines.
Step 7: Two arms out
Below each cheek, draw an arm from the rind reaching up and out to a round mitten with a thumb.
Step 8: Two feet
Under the slice, draw 2 plump bean feet poking out, flat on the bottom.
Step 9: The ground
Draw the ground line from the left edge of the paper to the right edge, along the flat feet.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Green rind
Colour the rind green, the arms and feet too, and leave the thin band white.
Step 12: Red and black
Colour the inside red around the seeds and cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Then colour the seeds black.
