How to Draw a Macaroon

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a macaroon in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.

Print

  1. Step 1: A plate

A little below the middle of your paper, draw a long flat oval plate, nearly as wide as the paper.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Draw a second flat oval just inside the plate for its rim.

  3. Step 3: A big macaroon

On the plate, left of the middle, draw a big round dome with small soft bumps and a flat bottom.

Tip Keep the bumps small and even, like shaggy coconut, with no sharp points.

  4. Step 4: A small macaroon

To the right, draw a smaller bumpy dome tucked behind. Start and stop where it meets the big one.

  5. Step 5: Chocolate dip

Low on each macaroon, draw a soft wavy line across, from one edge to the other.

  6. Step 6: Coconut shreds

Draw 3 short wiggly lines on the big macaroon's top and 2 on the small one, for coconut shreds.

  7. Step 7: The table

Draw a table line under the plate from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.

  8. Step 8: Cream coconut

Colour the tops of both macaroons cream, down to the wavy lines.

  9. Step 9: Sky plate

Colour the plate sky blue, going around the macaroons.

  10. Step 10: Chocolate bottoms

Colour below the wavy lines brown, and your macaroons are done!
