How to Draw a Cherimoya

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a cherimoya in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the fruit.

Print

  1. Step 1: The fruit

Left of the middle draw a big plump heart standing up, as tall as your hand, dip on top.

Tip A cherimoya looks like a green heart wearing scaly armour.

  2. Step 2: The stem

From the dip on top draw a short stem of two lines going straight up, round at the top.

  3. Step 3: Scales

Near the top draw 3 little U-shaped scales in a row. Under them draw 4 more, set in between.

  4. Step 4: More scales

Under those draw a row of 3 more, tucked into the gaps of the row above, like fish scales.

  5. Step 5: Last scales

Finish with a row of 2 near the bottom point, so the whole heart is scaly.

  6. Step 6: A cut half

Low on the right draw a smaller heart, a cut half overlapping the fruit. Rub out the lines inside.

  7. Step 7: The rind

Inside the half draw a second heart a finger inside the first, all the way round, for the rind.

  8. Step 8: Black seeds

Inside the flesh draw 5 plump seeds, little ovals leaning different ways, spread out.

  9. Step 9: The ground

Draw a long ground line from side to side, just touching the bottoms of the fruit and the half.

  10. Step 10: Cream flesh, green skin

Colour the half's flesh cream around the seeds. Colour the big fruit and the rind green, around the cream.

  11. Step 11: Black seeds, brown stem

Colour the seeds black and the stem brown. Go over your lines, and your cherimoya is done!
