How to Draw a Watercolor Set
Draw a watercolor set in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the open lid.
Step 1: The open lid
Near the top, draw a wide box with rounded corners, twice as wide as tall. This is the open lid.
Tip A paint tin opens like a book: the lid stands up at the back.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the lid, draw 2 big round eyes side by side, each with a black dot and a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a wide smile, and a small oval cheek on each side.
Step 4: Tray and ground
Under the lid, touching it, draw a box as wide but taller. Add a ground line along its bottom.
Step 5: Top row of paints
Inside the tray, draw 3 round paint pans in a row near the top, each about a thumb wide.
Step 6: Bottom row of paints
Under them, draw 3 more round pans, lined up under the first row.
Step 7: The brush handle
On the ground line, draw a long thin handle lying down. Start left of the tray, stop near the middle.
Step 8: Band and bristles
At the end of the handle, draw a small box for the band, then a pointy bristle tip.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 4 small sparkle stars around the tin, 2 beside the lid and 2 beside the tray.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Colour the top right pan and the sparkles yellow. Colour the bottom right pan and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Orange and red
Colour the top middle pan orange and the top left pan red.
Step 12: Green and blue
Colour the bottom left pan green and the bottom middle pan blue.
Step 13: Grey tin, wooden brush
Colour the brush: wood handle, grey band, black tip. Colour the tin grey around the pans, face and brush.
Tip Keep the eyes white.
