How to Draw a Walking Stick

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a walking stick in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the handle.

Print

  1. Step 1: The handle

Near the top draw a big rainbow, from the left over to the right. Draw a smaller rainbow inside it.

  2. Step 2: The long stick

From the left end of each rainbow draw a long line straight down, stopping a thumb above the bottom.

  3. Step 3: Happy face

Under the handle draw 2 round eyes, a U smile, and a cheek below each eye, away from the smile.

  4. Step 4: The short end

From the big rainbow's right end go down a little, round in a U, and up to the small rainbow.

  5. Step 5: Rubber tip

At the bottom draw a small rubber tip: from the left line, down and round, up to the right line.

  6. Step 6: A collar

Under the face draw one short line straight across the stick, from the left edge to the right edge.

  7. Step 7: Wood grain

Draw 3 short wavy grain lines: one on the handle and 2 down the stick, not touching the edges.

  8. Step 8: Ground and sparkles

Draw a ground line along the bottom from left to right, and 3 sparkle stars around the stick.

  9. Step 9: Sparkles and cheeks

Go over your lines, then colour the sparkles yellow and the cheeks peach.

  10. Step 10: Wood stick

Colour the handle and the stick wood brown, going around the cheeks and leaving the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Slate tip

Colour the rubber tip slate grey, and your walking stick is ready for a stroll!
