How to Draw a Water Tower
Draw a water tower in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big tank.
Step 1: The big tank
Above the middle draw a big drum, a wide box. Under it draw a smile from corner across to corner.
Step 2: The pointy roof
On the drum draw a wide pointy roof like a hat, wider than the drum. Add a knob on top.
Step 3: Two bands
Draw 2 straight bands across the drum, one high and one low, from side to side.
Step 4: Outside legs
Start on the drum's bottom. Draw a long leg down and out to the ground, and back up. Both sides.
Step 5: Inside legs
Draw 2 more thin legs between them, straighter, from the drum's bottom to the ground.
Step 6: Cross braces
Between the outside leg and inside leg on each side draw 2 flat bars, and a big X between them.
Step 7: The ladder
In the middle draw a ladder from the drum's bottom down to the ground: 2 long lines and 5 rungs.
Step 8: Ground and sun
Draw one ground line under all the legs, from edge to edge. Draw a sun with 8 rays top right.
Step 9: A cloud
High on the left draw a puffy cloud: 4 bumps over the top and 2 shallow bumps underneath.
Step 10: Yellow sun, white cloud
Go over your lines. Colour the sun yellow, and leave the cloud white.
Step 11: Grey legs
Colour the 4 legs grey.
Step 12: Red tank, grey roof
Colour the drum and its round bottom red, and the roof and knob dark grey. Your water tower is done!
