How to Draw a Water Slide

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a water slide in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the platform.

Print

  1. Step 1: The platform

Above the middle, on the left, draw a flat plank for the top platform, a finger thick.

Tip The platform is high on the left; the slide swoops down to the right.

  2. Step 2: The ladder

From the platform draw 2 ladder lines a thumb apart, down to near the paper's bottom. Add 5 rungs.

  3. Step 3: The hand rails

From the platform above each ladder line, draw a hand rail up, ending in a candy cane hook.

  4. Step 4: The water tube

From the platform's right corner draw a fat tube swooping down to the right, flattening out at the end.

Tip The tube is fat, not a thin plank: the lines stay a finger apart.

  5. Step 5: The tube mouth

At the end of the tube draw a tipped oval for the open mouth, where the water comes out.

  6. Step 6: Legs

Draw 2 legs from the tube's underside down to the same level as the ladder, with a bar between.

  7. Step 7: The ground

Draw a ground line under the ladder and legs, a finger from each edge. Add 2 grass tufts, 3 blades each.

  8. Step 8: Splash pool

Under the tube mouth draw a low tub standing on the ground, with a wavy water line inside.

  9. Step 9: Water pouring out

From the tube mouth draw 2 water lines down to the pool's top edge. Add 3 teardrop splashes flying up.

Tip The water falls straight from the tube mouth into the pool.

  10. Step 10: The sun

In the top right draw a round sun with 8 short rays.

  11. Step 11: Yellow sun and rim

Colour the sun yellow, and the pool's rim above the wavy line yellow too.

  12. Step 12: Sky blue tube

Colour the tube sky blue, but not its round opening. Colour the 3 splash drops sky blue too.

  13. Step 13: Blue water, grey platform

Colour the opening, falling water and pool water blue, and the platform slate grey. Your slide is done!
