How to Draw a Hanger

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a hanger in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wooden frame.

Print

  1. Step 1: The wooden frame

In the middle draw a wide triangle with a point on top, rounded bottom corners and a flat bottom.

Tip Let the sloping sides run all the way down to the round corners, like a hanger's shoulders.

  2. Step 2: The open middle

Inside the frame draw a smaller triangle, leaving slim wooden arms and a wider bar along the bottom.

  3. Step 3: Two eyes

In the middle of the bottom bar draw 2 small egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a small U smile from eye to eye, and a tiny oval cheek at each end.

  5. Step 5: The neck

From the top point of the frame draw a short narrow post straight up, for the neck of the hook.

  6. Step 6: The hook

From the neck's top curve up and over to the right like a question mark, stopping at a little ball.

  7. Step 7: The rail

Draw a straight rail from left to right through the top of the curl. The hook hangs on it.

  8. Step 8: Sparkles

Draw 4 little sparkles in the air around the hanger.

  9. Step 9: Grey neck, pink cheeks

Go over your lines, then colour the neck grey and the cheeks pink.

  10. Step 10: Wood hanger

Colour the frame wood brown around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white and the middle empty. Your hanger is ready!
