How to Draw a Water Balloon
Draw a water balloon in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: plump balloon.
Step 1: Plump balloon
In the middle of your paper draw a big fat drop shape with a flat bottom and a narrow neck.
Tip A water balloon is heavy, so it squashes flat where it sits.
Step 2: The knot
On top of the neck draw a small round knot. Add a tiny flap sticking out on the left.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the upper half draw 2 round eyes, each with a big black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide smile, and a small oval cheek on each side.
Step 5: Water line
Under the smile draw one wavy line across the balloon. Start on the left edge, stop on the right edge.
Tip The wobbles show the water sloshing.
Step 6: Shine
Near the lower left draw a short curved shine line, following the round edge.
Step 7: Two sparkles
Draw a small 4-point sparkle on each side of the balloon, up near the top.
Step 8: Ground
Draw one long ground line under the balloon, touching its flat bottom.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Light blue top
Colour the knot, flap and balloon above the wavy line light blue, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Blue water
Colour the water below the wavy line blue. Your water balloon is done!
