How to Draw Washing Hands

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw washing hands in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two palms.

Print

  1. Step 1: Two palms

Low on your paper, draw 2 palms side by side, touching down the middle, flat on top and round underneath.

Tip Leave lots of room above for the fingers and the tap.

  2. Step 2: Tallest fingers

On top of each palm draw a tall fat finger: up, round the tip and back down to the palm.

Tip Rub out the palm line inside each finger.

  3. Step 3: Fingers beside them

Draw a shorter finger tucked close on each side of the tall ones, stopping on the palm.

  4. Step 4: Little fingers

In the middle draw the 2 shortest fingers side by side, so they touch all the way up.

  5. Step 5: Thumbs

Start low on each palm's outer side. Draw a fat thumb leaning out, round the tip, back to the palm.

Tip Rub out the lines inside each thumb.

  6. Step 6: Wrists

From the bottom of each palm draw 2 wrist lines going down. Stop a thumb's length below.

  7. Step 7: Cuffs

Across the end of each wrist draw a wide cuff, like a box with round corners.

  8. Step 8: The tap

From behind the right fingers, draw a tall pipe. Bend it over like a hook. Stop above the little fingers.

Tip Draw a flat oval on the end of the pipe, where the water comes out.

  9. Step 9: Running water

Start under the end of the tap. Draw 2 straight lines down. Stop at the tips of the little fingers.

  10. Step 10: Soap bubbles

Draw 3 round bubbles on one palm and 2 on the other. Add 3 more floating in the air.

Tip Make the bubbles different sizes.

  11. Step 11: Blue water

Go over your lines. Colour the running water light blue. Leave all the bubbles white.

  12. Step 12: Peach hands

Colour both hands peach: the palms, fingers, thumbs and wrists. Colour around the bubbles.

  13. Step 13: Grey tap, blue cuffs

Colour the tap grey and both cuffs blue. Your clean hands are done!
