How to Draw a Ninja

Draw a ninja in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: Big eyes
Just below the middle draw 2 round eyes, a gap apart, each with a black dot and a shine.
Step 3: Hood opening
Around the eyes draw a long rounded opening, not touching the head line. The rest is the hood.
Tip The hood covers the nose and mouth, so only the eyes show.
Step 4: Headband
Above the opening draw a headband from side to side, 2 curves thick. Add 2 flapping tails on the right.
Step 5: Neck and ninja suit
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a shoulder, side and bottom, up to the right one.
Step 6: Long sleeves
From each shoulder draw a sleeve down to the wrist and back up to the armpit, bent at the elbow.
Tip Add a cuff line near each wrist. Rub out the body line inside each sleeve.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Start at each sleeve's bottom and draw a round mitten with a thumb pointing in, back to the sleeve.
Step 8: Belt
Draw a line across the suit just above its bottom, side to side. Add a round knot in the middle.
Step 9: Trousers
Start at the bottom left of the top. Draw trousers down, across, up between the legs, up to the right.
Tip The legs lean in a little.
Step 10: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe: round heel, flat sole, and a long toe pointing out. Add the ground line.
Step 11: Peach skin
Colour the skin inside the opening and both hands peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red headband and belt
Colour the headband, its tails, the belt and the knot red.
Step 13: Grey suit, black shoes
Colour the hood, neck, suit and trousers dark grey around the red and peach. Colour the shoes black.
