How to Draw a Grandpa
Draw a grandpa in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 eyes, each a dot with a shine. Add 2 eyebrows, a small nose and a smile.
Step 3: Glasses and moustache
Draw a big round lens around each eye with a tiny bridge. Under the nose draw a bushy moustache.
Step 4: Ears
Draw a C ear on each side. Start on the head beside the eye and stop back on the head.
Step 5: Hair at the sides
Above each ear draw a fluffy hair tuft. Start on the head and stop at the top of the ear.
Tip Grandpa is bald on top!
Step 6: Neck and cardigan
Draw 2 neck lines, then a round-shouldered cardigan from neck back to neck. Add a collar and 3 buttons.
Step 7: Long sleeves
Draw each sleeve with 2 lines from the shoulder and the armpit down to the wrist. Add a cuff line.
Tip Rub out the shoulder line inside each sleeve.
Step 8: Mitten hands
Under each sleeve draw a round mitten hand, like the bottom of an egg, with a little thumb pointing in.
Step 9: Trousers
Start at the cardigan's bottom left corner. Draw trousers with 2 long legs, and stop at the bottom right corner.
Step 10: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.
Step 11: Walking stick
From the ground draw a stick up into the right hand, then curl a little hook out of its side.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the skin peach, around the cheeks and moustache. Colour the cheeks pink. Leave the lenses white.
Step 13: Grey hair, green cardigan
Colour the hair tufts and moustache grey, and the cardigan and sleeves green.
Step 14: Brown trousers, black shoes
Colour the trousers brown and the shoes black. Go over your lines and your grandpa is done.
