How to Draw a Walnut
Draw a walnut in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the nut.
Step 1: The nut
In the middle of your paper draw a big round nut with a gently bumpy edge, pointy at the top.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes in the middle of the nut. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Leave a gap under the eyes and draw a wide U smile. Add 2 little oval cheeks at its ends.
Step 4: The seam
Draw a seam down the middle of the nut, skipping the face: top to eyes, then smile to bottom.
Step 5: Wrinkles on the left
Draw a long wavy wrinkle down the left side, then 2 short wavy ones above and below the face.
Step 6: Wrinkles on the right
Draw the same 3 wavy wrinkles down the right side: a long one and 2 short ones.
Step 7: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line under the nut, nearly edge to edge. Add 2 grass blades near its left end.
Step 8: A little walnut
Behind the big nut, on the right, draw a little walnut on the ground, with a seam and 2 wrinkles.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, tan nut
Colour the cheeks pink, then the big nut tan around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Brown little walnut
Colour the little walnut brown. Go over your lines to finish.
