How to Draw a Rubik’s Cube
Draw a Rubik’s cube in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the front.
Step 1: The front
Left of the middle of your paper, draw a big square for the front, half the page wide.
Tip Four straight sides, all the same length.
Step 2: The top
Start at the top-left corner. Slant up a short way, go straight across, and slant down to the top-right corner.
Step 3: The side
From the top's far right corner, go down as tall as the square, then slant down to the bottom-right corner.
Step 4: Front grid
On the front, draw 2 lines straight down and 2 straight across, evenly spaced, to make 9 little squares.
Step 5: Top grid
On the top, draw 2 slanted lines the same way as the slanted edges, and 2 lines straight across.
Step 6: Side grid
On the side, draw 2 lines straight down, and 2 slanted lines across, the same way as the slanted edges.
Step 7: Table and shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow under the cube. From each end, draw a table line to the paper's edge.
Tip Keep the bottom of the cube right on the table line.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 3 small sparkle stars in the air around the cube: 4 dots in a plus, joined with dipping curves.
Step 9: Grey shadow, red front
Colour the shadow grey. Colour the front squares like a checkerboard: corners and middle red, the rest white.
Step 10: Blue and yellow top
Colour the top squares blue and yellow the same way.
Step 11: Green and orange side
Colour the side squares green and orange the same way. Go over your lines and your cube is done!
