How to Draw a Volcano Kit
Draw a volcano kit in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tray.
Step 1: The tray
Near the bottom of your paper, draw a long flat tray: a thin wide box with slanted ends.
Step 2: Clay mound
Start at the tray's left end. Draw a slope up to a rounded top and back down to the right.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the mound, draw 2 big egg eyes one eye apart. Add black dots and shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each.
Step 5: The crater
Across the top of the mound, draw a flat oval for the crater rim.
Step 6: The foam
From inside the crater, draw a foam cloud with 5 round bumps on top, wider than the crater.
Step 7: Foam runnels
From the crater rim, draw 2 fat foam runnels sliding down: short on the left, longer on the right.
Step 8: Bubbles
Draw 2 bubbles beside the foam: a big one on the right, a small one on the left.
Step 9: Table line
Start near the left edge. Draw a straight table line under the tray, stopping near the right edge.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw 2 fat 4-point sparkles, one on each side of the volcano.
Step 11: Yellow and sky blue
Colour the sparkles yellow. Colour the tray and the bubbles sky blue.
Step 12: Orange foam, pink cheeks
Colour the foam and both runnels orange. Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 13: Brown mound
Colour the mound brown around the face and runnels, and the crater dark grey. Leave the eyes white. All done!
