How to Draw a French Press
Draw a French press in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the glass.
Step 1: The glass
In the middle of your paper draw a tall box with soft corners, like a big glass, standing up.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the lower half of the glass draw 2 big egg eyes with big black dots.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, and an oval cheek below each eye, on the outside.
Step 4: The base band
Under the glass draw a flat band a little wider than the glass.
Step 5: The lid
On top of the glass draw a flat lid, a little wider than the glass.
Step 6: Rod and knob
From the middle of the lid draw a thin rod standing up, with a round knob on top.
Step 7: The plunger
Inside the glass carry the rod down from the lid to halfway, ending in a flat plate across.
Step 8: The handle
On the right side draw a big thick D handle: out from the glass, round, and back in lower down.
Step 9: Steam
From just above the lid draw 2 wiggly steam lines up, one each side of the knob, to its top.
Step 10: Counter line
Start near the left edge and draw a straight counter line under the band, stopping near the right edge.
Step 11: Sparkles
Draw a few little 4-point sparkles around it to make it shine.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow.
Step 13: Brown coffee
Colour the coffee in the bottom of the glass brown around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white.
Step 14: Slate metal
Colour the lid, the rod, the knob, the plate, the handle and the base band slate grey.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a French press, drawn by you.
