How to Draw a Spartan Helmet
Draw a Spartan helmet in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: dome and cheek guards.
Step 1: Dome and cheek guards
From the bottom middle draw a dome with cheek guards curving in. Stop near the start. Add 2 corner flaps.
Step 2: T face opening
Draw a T-shaped hole around 2 eye slots and a nose guard. Start and stop at the guard tips.
Tip The T is the famous Spartan face hole.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In each eye slot draw a big round eye. Fill most of it with a black dot.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the nose guard draw a happy U smile. Add a small oval cheek on each cheek guard.
Step 5: Tall plume
Start on the dome left of the middle. Draw a tall plume up, over the top, back to the dome.
Step 6: Horsehair lines
Inside the plume draw 3 long lines from the dome up toward the top, like strands of hair.
Step 7: Rivets
Along the brow of the dome draw a row of 5 tiny round rivets in a gentle arc.
Step 8: Ground
Draw one straight ground line under the helmet, right along its flat bottom edge.
Step 9: Yellow rivets, pink cheeks
Colour the rivets yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Bronze helmet
Colour the helmet and flaps ginger like bronze, around the rivets and cheeks. Leave the face hole and eyes white.
Step 11: Red plume
Colour the plume red, then go over your lines. Your spartan helmet is done!
