How to Draw a Sailor Hat
Draw a sailor hat in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dome.
Step 1: The dome
Start below the middle of your paper. Draw a big upside-down U for the dome, stopping level with the start.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the dome draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Add a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek out beside each end of the smile.
Step 4: The brim edge
Start a little left of the dome. Draw a gentle arch through its feet, stopping a little right of it.
Step 5: The turned-up brim
Draw the brim band. Start at the arch's left end, go down, along flat and up to the right end.
Step 6: The stripe
Start on the brim's left side, a finger below the arch. Draw a matching arch to the right side.
Step 7: A table line
Start left of the hat. Draw a straight table line touching the brim's bottom, stopping right of the hat.
Step 8: Two sparkles
Draw a little 4-point sparkle off the top right of the hat and a smaller one off the left.
Step 9: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines. Leave the hat and the eyes white. Colour the sparkles yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 10: Navy stripe
Colour the stripe navy blue from end to end. Your sailor hat is done!
