How to Draw a Vise
Draw a vise in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
A little below the middle of your paper, draw a long low box for the body.
Tip Leave room on the left for the handle.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the body draw 2 big egg eyes side by side. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The fixed jaw
On the body, near the middle, draw a tall box with its top sticking out right, for the fixed jaw.
Step 5: The sliding jaw
Left of it, after a small gap, draw the same shape facing the other way for the sliding jaw.
Step 6: The plank
In the gap between the jaws draw a tall plank standing up, poking up above both jaws.
Step 7: The screw bar
From the middle of the sliding jaw's left side, under its top, draw a long thin bar going left.
Step 8: The T handle
On the left end of the screw bar draw a thin standing bar with round ends, taller than the jaw.
Step 9: Base and bench
Under the body draw a long flat base, wider than the body, then a bench line right across the paper.
Step 10: Bolts and sparkle
Put a black dot near each end of the base for bolts. Draw a sparkle star above the fixed jaw.
Step 11: Tan plank, yellow sparkle
Colour the plank tan and the sparkle yellow.
Step 12: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 13: Grey vise
Colour the vise dark grey around the tan plank and pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your vise holds tight!
