How to Draw a Cassette
Draw a cassette in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cassette box.
Step 1: The cassette box
In the middle draw a big soft box with round corners, much wider than tall, like a fat envelope.
Step 2: The window
In the top half of the box draw a long flat slot with round corners for the window.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
Under the window draw 2 big egg eyes one eye apart. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: 2 reels
In the window draw 2 round reels, one near each end. Add a little cog with 6 teeth in each.
Step 6: The tape
Between the reels draw 2 gentle curves, one bowing up and one bowing down, from reel to reel.
Step 7: The label strip
Near the top draw a straight line across the box, from side to side, for the label strip.
Step 8: 4 screws
Draw a tiny round screw in each corner: 2 just under the label line and 2 near the bottom.
Step 9: Ground and notes
Draw a ground line under the cassette from far left to far right. Add a music note on each side.
Step 10: Cream and yellow
Go over your lines, then colour the window and label strip cream, around the reels, and the note heads yellow.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, purple box
Colour the cheeks pink, then the box purple, around the window, label and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Brown reels
Colour the 2 reels brown and leave the little cogs white. Your cassette is ready to play!
