How to Draw a Veteran
Draw a veteran in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 big eyes with black dots. Add a nose, a smile and eyebrows.
Step 3: Flat cap
Start on the left of the head above the eyes. Draw a low flat cap over to the right.
Tip The cap sits low and flat, like a little loaf.
Step 4: Moustache
Under the nose draw a small moustache, 2 soft lobes that dip in the middle and curl up.
Step 5: Neck and jacket
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a round-shouldered jacket down and back up to the right one.
Step 6: Medals and a pocket
Draw 2 medals on the left chest, each a box over a circle. Add a rounded pocket on the right.
Step 7: Long sleeves
From each shoulder and armpit draw a sleeve line down to the wrist, closer together at the bottom.
Step 8: Mitten hands
At the bottom of each arm draw a round mitten with a little thumb bump pointing in.
Step 9: Belt and trousers
Draw a belt band with a square buckle. From its ends draw the trousers down, up between the legs.
Step 10: Boots and ground
Under each leg draw a tall boot, toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the boots.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes and moustache white.
Step 12: Gold medals, red ribbons
Colour the 2 round medals gold and their ribbons red.
Step 13: Brown belt, navy uniform
Colour the belt and boots brown, the uniform and cap navy, around the medals and belt. Your veteran is done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a veteran, drawn by you.
