How to Draw Athena
Draw Athena in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Step 2: The face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 round eyes with black dots. Add a tiny nose and smile.
Step 3: Helmet and crest
Draw a helmet with a brim over the head, a guard down each cheek and a tall crest on top.
Tip Give the crest 3 hair lines so it looks like a plume, not a ball.
Step 4: Long hair
From under the helmet on the left, sweep hair down to the shoulders, under the chin, up to the right.
Step 5: Neck and dress
Draw 2 short neck lines. Start at the left one and draw the dress down to a wide hem.
Step 6: Arms
Start under each shoulder of the dress. Draw 2 bending lines down, closer at the wrist, and stop there.
Step 7: Mitten hands
Start at the outside of each wrist. Draw a round mitten with a thumb and stop at the inside wrist.
Step 8: Shield with an owl
Over the left arm draw a pointy shield. Add an owl: an egg with ear tufts, big eyes, a beak.
Step 9: Legs, shoes and ground
Start on the hem. Draw 2 short lines down for each leg, stopping at a shoe. Add a ground line.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks, then face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach around them. Leave eyes and dress white.
Step 11: Yellow shield, grey helmet
Colour the shield yellow but not the owl. Colour the owl, helmet and guards grey, leaving the owl's eyes white.
Step 12: Red crest
Colour the tall crest red, all the way up between its hair lines.
Step 13: Brown hair, black shoes
Colour the hair brown and the shoes black. Your Athena is ready!
