How to Draw a Princess and the Pea
Draw a princess and the pea in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
Near the top draw a big round head, a little wider at the cheeks.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the mattresses.
Step 2: Friendly face
Below the middle of the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots and shines. Add a small smile.
Step 3: Fringe and crown
Draw hair over the top of the head with a swept fringe. Sit a crown with 3 points on top.
Tip The middle point is the tallest.
Step 4: Bell gown
Under the chin draw a gown: 2 small puffy sleeves, a thin waist and a short bell skirt.
Step 5: Arms
From under each sleeve draw an arm that bends at the elbow, down to a round hand.
Tip The arm gets thinner toward the hand.
Step 6: Long hair
From each side of the fringe draw long hair curving down. Stop where it tucks behind each sleeve.
Step 7: Top mattress
Under the princess draw a long soft box. Her skirt and hands rest on its top edge.
Tip Round every corner so it looks soft.
Step 8: Three more mattresses
Under it draw 3 more long soft boxes, the same size, each touching the one above.
Step 9: Bottom mattress
Draw 1 more mattress. Bump the middle of its bottom edge up like a little hill.
Step 10: The pea
Under the little hill draw one small round pea. Rule a ground line along the bottom.
Step 11: Striped mattresses
Colour wide stripes down every mattress, blue on one and pink on the next. Leave white stripes between.
Step 12: Crown and skin
Colour the crown yellow. Colour the face, arms and hands peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Gown and pea
Colour the gown pink. Colour the pea green.
Step 14: Brown hair
Colour all the hair brown, around the crown and the face. Go over your lines.
