How to Draw a Unicorn Sitting
Draw a unicorn sitting in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
In the middle of the paper draw a big round head. Leave room above for the horn.
Tip The head is widest at the cheeks, with a smaller chin.
Step 2: Horn and ears
Draw a fat horn on top of the head, pointing up. Add a short leaf ear on each top corner.
Tip Put a smaller leaf inside each ear. The ears lean out.
Step 3: Big shiny eyes
Below the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, 1 eye apart. Put a black dot in each.
Tip Leave a white circle in each dot for the shine. Add 3 lashes.
Step 4: Horn twist
Draw a curved band near the bottom of the horn. Above it draw 4 short slanted lines across the horn.
Tip The slanted lines make the horn twist like a seashell.
Step 5: Nose and smile
Under the eyes draw a wide oval nose, half as wide as the head. Add 2 dots and a smile.
Tip Curl each end of the smile up with a tiny hook.
Step 6: Flop of hair
Draw a fat hair tuft from the left of the horn. It sweeps out over the ear to a point.
Tip Come back with 2 little hill bumps across the forehead.
Step 7: Round body
Start under each cheek. Draw a big C down to near the bottom. Join the 2 ends with a smile.
Tip The body is a ball a little wider than the head.
Step 8: Flowing mane
Start behind the right ear. Draw a wavy mane down to a point on the shoulder, then back up.
Tip The mane hangs down past the cheek, with one soft dip halfway.
Step 9: Strands and side lock
Inside the mane draw 2 long curved lines up toward the head. Add 1 more lock beside the left cheek.
Tip The side lock hangs under the hair tuft, down to the jaw.
Step 10: Front legs
Start under the chin. Draw 2 legs that narrow, then widen into flat hooves. Add a line across each hoof.
Tip Each leg is widest at the top and thinnest just above the hoof.
Step 11: Back hooves
Draw a hill hoof at each bottom corner. From the body side, loop a thigh over, stopping on the hoof.
Tip Put a line across each hoof. Rub out the body line inside them.
Step 12: Tail and ground
Start on the right side of the body. Draw a fat wavy tail up to a point. Add the ground line.
Tip Add 1 long hair line from the point down the middle of the tail.
Step 13: Yellow horn, pink hair
Colour the horn and 4 hooves yellow, and the hair tuft and ear insides pink. Leave the body white.
Step 14: Purple mane and tail
Colour the mane, side lock and tail purple. Add a pink cheek under each eye and go over your lines.
