How to Draw a Jack Russell Terrier
Draw a Jack Russell terrier in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round head.
Step 1: Round head
Near the top left, draw a round head like a soft ball. Leave room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Blunt nose
From the head's left, draw a blunt nose out and back to the chin. Add a black tip and smile.
Step 3: Big eye
Left of the middle, above the nose, draw 1 big round eye with a black dot and a shine.
Step 4: Folded ear
On top of the head, draw a soft triangle flap folded forward, tip pointing toward the eye.
Step 5: The neck
From behind the head, draw a neck line sloping down right. Draw another from the chin down to the chest.
Step 6: Sturdy body
Start at the neck. Draw a short straight back, a round bottom, and the tummy back up to the chest.
Step 7: Two legs
Draw a ground line. From the chest and the bottom, draw 2 short legs, each to a plump paw.
Tip Each paw is a plump round pad with 2 toe lines.
Step 8: Far legs
Just behind the front leg, draw a thinner leg down to the ground. Same in front of the back leg.
Step 9: Tail up
On the top corner of the bottom, draw a short tail standing up like a little carrot.
Tip A Jack Russell's tail is always up.
Step 10: The collar
Just under the head, draw a curved line across the neck, from the back to the chest.
Step 11: The patches
Draw a soft blob around the eye. On the back, draw a wavy line from the middle to the tail.
Step 12: White coat
Go over your lines, then colour the head, nose, body, legs and tail white, pressing softly. Colour the collar red.
Step 13: Tan patches
Colour the ear, the saddle patch and the eye patch tan, leaving the eye white. Your Jack Russell is ready!
