How to Draw a Ceratosaurus

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a ceratosaurus in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The big head

At the top left, draw a long head. Start at the back, round the flat snout, stop under the jaw.

Tip Leave the back of the head open, the neck grows out of it.

  2. Step 2: Big eye

High near the back of the head, draw a big eye with a black dot and shine. Dot a nostril.

  3. Step 3: Nose horn

Start on the snout. Draw a tall pointed horn and stop on the head line. Add a small brow bump.

Tip The brow bump sits on the head line, just above the eye.

  4. Step 4: Back and heavy tail

Start behind the head. Draw down the back and along a thick tail. Come back under it and stop.

Tip The tail is fat at the body and thin at the tip.

  5. Step 5: Back bumps

Draw 5 small round bumps along the back, from behind the head to the tail.

Tip Make the bumps a little smaller as they go down.

  6. Step 6: Big happy grin

From the front of the snout, draw a long smile to the cheek. Add a sagging curve under it.

  7. Step 7: Pointy teeth

Start on the smile near the front. Zigzag 5 pointy teeth along it and stop before the corner.

  8. Step 8: Round chest

Start under the jaw. Draw a big C for the chest. Stop when it curls back under the tummy.

  9. Step 9: Tiny arm

On the chest, draw a tiny arm reaching forward. Give it 2 little fingers.

Tip Rub out the bit of chest line inside the arm.

  10. Step 10: Big front leg

From the end of the chest, draw a big round thigh and a short leg with 3 toes.

  11. Step 11: Back leg and ground

Start behind the big thigh. Draw a back leg down to 3 toes and up to the tail.

Tip Then draw a long ground line under both feet.

  12. Step 12: Tummy patch

Start on the chest under the jaw. Draw a rainbow curve over the arm and stop on the big thigh.

  13. Step 13: Cream and pink

Colour the tummy, horns and bumps cream. Colour inside the mouth pink and leave the teeth white.

  14. Step 14: Colour it red

Go over your lines. Colour the rest red, around the cream parts. Leave the eye white.
