How to Draw a Chibi Dog

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a chibi dog in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big round head

Near the top, draw a big soft egg for the head, wider than tall, with fat round cheeks.

Tip A chibi head is about half of the whole dog.

  2. Step 2: Floppy ears

Start high on each side of the head. Draw a floppy ear hanging down and stop on the cheek.

  3. Step 3: Big shiny eyes

Halfway down the head, draw 2 huge oval eyes. Add a ring, a black pupil and 2 shines in each.

Tip Huge shiny eyes make it chibi.

  4. Step 4: Snout and nose

Under the eyes, draw a wide oval snout. Sit a rounded triangle nose on top and colour it black.

  5. Step 5: Smile and tongue

From the nose point, draw a short line down to a little w smile. Hang a U tongue from it.

  6. Step 6: Tiny body

Start under the head on each side. Curve down for a small body, then join the ends underneath.

Tip The body is much smaller than the head.

  7. Step 7: Front legs

From the chin, draw 2 short legs side by side down to round paws. Add 2 toes on each.

Tip The chest is a little U between the tops of the legs.

  8. Step 8: Back paws

At each bottom corner, draw a hill paw tucked behind the front paw. Add 2 toes on each.

  9. Step 9: Waggy tail

Start low on the right side. Draw a short fat tail curving up to a round tip and back.

Tip Fat at the body, thinner at the tip.

  10. Step 10: Ground line

Start left of the paws. Draw a flat ground line under them and stop past the tail.

  11. Step 11: Cream and pink

Colour the snout cream, around the nose. Colour the tongue and 2 round cheeks pink.

  12. Step 12: Tan fur

Colour the head, body, legs, paws and tail tan, around the snout and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Brown ears and eyes

Colour the 2 floppy ears brown. Colour the rings in the eyes brown too. Your chibi dog is done!
