How to Draw a Unicorn Flying
Draw a unicorn flying in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: peanut head.
Step 1: Peanut head
Near the top left, draw a fat peanut head: a big round cheek behind, a smaller round nose in front.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the body.
Step 2: Eye and nose
On the big round part, draw one big oval eye with a black dot. Add a nostril and a smile.
Tip Only one eye: we see the unicorn from the side.
Step 3: Pointy horn
On the forehead, draw a tall pointy horn leaning forward. Draw 2 small curves across it.
Step 4: Leaf ear
Behind the horn, draw a leaf ear on top of the head. Draw a smaller leaf inside it.
Step 5: Neck and body
From the back of the head and under the jaw, draw 2 neck lines. Add a body at their ends.
Tip Make the body a big soft bean. Rub out the neck lines inside it.
Step 6: Wavy mane
Draw a floppy lock on the forehead, then 4 fat petal locks along the neck, ear to shoulders.
Tip The locks overlap like roof tiles.
Step 7: Feathered wings
Start on the back behind the mane. Draw a big wing up to a point, back down with feather bumps.
Tip Add a second wing peeking behind. Rub out the back line inside.
Step 8: Two legs
From the chest, draw a bent front leg, hoof tucked back. From the bottom, draw a back leg kicking back.
Tip Each leg gets thinner toward its hoof. Draw a line across the top of each hoof.
Step 9: Far legs
Draw a second front leg reaching forward below the first. Draw a second back leg peeking out below.
Tip Only draw what you can see. Add a line across each hoof.
Step 10: Streaming tail
Start at the top of the bottom. Draw a wavy tail out and down to a point, then back.
Tip Thick where it grows, pointed at the tip. Add one hair line inside.
Step 11: Clouds and sparkles
Under the unicorn, draw 2 puffy clouds with flat bottoms. Add 2 sparkles, by the horn and by the tail.
Tip Sparkles are two crossed points, like a tiny star.
Step 12: Colour it white
Go over your lines. Colour the head, ear, neck, body and legs white.
Tip Keep the eye white.
Step 13: Gold and pink
Colour the horn and the 4 hooves gold. Colour the wings and the inside of the ear pink.
Step 14: Purple and pink hair
Colour the tail, the floppy hair and every other mane lock purple. Colour the other locks pink.
