How to Draw a Unicorn Float

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a unicorn float in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ring.

Print

  1. Step 1: The ring

A little below the middle of your paper, draw a big wide oval for the float ring.

  2. Step 2: The hole

Inside the ring, in its upper half, draw a smaller squashed oval for the hole you sit in.

Tip The hole sits high, so the front of the ring is fat.

  3. Step 3: Thick neck

Start on the ring's top left. Draw a thick neck leaning up and left, then back down to the ring.

Tip The neck is widest where it joins the ring.

  4. Step 4: The head

On top of the neck, draw a big head: round at the back, with a long soft nose pointing left.

  5. Step 5: Horn and ear

On the forehead, draw a tall pointy horn with 2 lines across it. Add a leaf ear behind it.

Tip The horn is what makes it a unicorn.

  6. Step 6: Eye and smile

Draw a big eye with a black dot and a shine. Add a nostril dot and a smile.

  7. Step 7: Wavy mane

Start behind the ear. Draw 3 soft bumps down the back of the neck, ending on the ring.

  8. Step 8: Curly tail

On the ring's top right, draw a fat tail sweeping up and over to a point. Add 2 hair lines.

  9. Step 9: Shine and water

Draw a short curved shine on the ring's left. Draw 2 wavy water lines from side to side.

Tip Rub out the bottom of the ring under the top water line, so the float sits in the water.

  10. Step 10: Sparkles and drops

Add a 4-point sparkle high on each side, and a little drop each side.

  11. Step 11: Yellow horn

Go over your lines. Colour the horn and sparkles yellow. Leave the ring, neck, head, ear and eye white.

  12. Step 12: Pink mane and tail

Colour the wavy mane and the curly tail pink.

  13. Step 13: Blue water

Colour the water blue right down to the bottom and edges of your paper. Colour the hole and drops blue.
