How to Draw a Typewriter
Draw a typewriter in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the sheet of paper.
Step 1: The sheet of paper
High in the middle, draw a box a little taller than wide for the sheet of paper.
Tip The paper gets the face, and the typewriter goes under it.
Step 2: Two big eyes
Draw 2 big egg eyes on the paper. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Roller and knobs
Under the paper draw a thin bar with round ends, much wider than the paper. Add 2 end knobs.
Step 5: The body
From under each end of the roller draw a side sloping out, then a flat bottom joining them.
Step 6: Top row of keys
A finger under the roller, draw a row of 5 little circles across the body for the keys.
Step 7: Middle row of keys
Under it draw a row of 4 keys, each sitting between 2 keys above.
Step 8: Bottom row, space bar
Under that draw a row of 3 keys. Under them draw a long flat bar for the space bar.
Step 9: Typed lines
Above the eyes draw 2 short lines across the paper for typed words, both starting at the same place.
Step 10: Table and sparkles
Draw a table line under the typewriter, from left to right. Add 4 little sparkles in the air.
Step 11: Cream keys, pink cheeks
Colour the keys and the space bar cream, and the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes and the paper white.
Step 12: Grey roller
Colour the roller and its 2 knobs grey.
Step 13: Teal typewriter
Go over your lines, then colour the body teal around the keys and the space bar.

Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a typewriter, drawn by you.
