How to Draw a Firecracker
Draw a firecracker in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.
Step 1: The top
A little above the middle of your paper, draw a flat oval, a bit wider than a thumb.
Step 2: The tube
From each end of the oval, draw a long line down, almost to the bottom. Join them with a smile.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the tube, draw 2 big egg eyes, not touching the sides. Add black dots and shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a U smile. Add a small flat cheek under each eye, away from the sides.
Step 5: The fuse
From the middle of the top oval, draw a short wiggly line going up, stopping a thumb above the top.
Step 6: The spark
At the top of the fuse, draw a sparkle star, and 3 tiny dashes flicking away from it.
Step 7: Two bands
Draw a gentle curve across the tube above the eyes, side to side, and another below the cheeks.
Step 8: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the tube from well left to well right, and 3 sparkle stars around it.
Step 9: Yellow sparkles
Colour the spark and the 3 sparkles yellow. Leave the top oval white.
Step 10: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Cream band
Colour the middle band cream, going around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red bands
Go over your lines, then colour the top and bottom bands red. Your firecracker is ready to pop!
