How to Draw Two Swans
Draw two swans in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two small heads.
Step 1: Two small heads
Near the top draw 2 small egg heads, one each side of the middle. Tip them towards each other.
Tip Leave a gap between the heads for the bills.
Step 2: Bills and knobs
On each head draw a bill pointing down to the middle. Add a small round knob on top of it.
Tip The 2 bills almost touch. Draw a line along each bill for the mouth.
Step 3: Friendly eyes
Draw 1 round eye on each head. Add a black dot and a tiny white shine.
Step 4: Heart necks
Start under each chin. Curve out, down and back to the middle, like a heart. Carry on down a little.
Tip The 2 lines almost touch at the bottom point of the heart.
Step 5: Backs of the necks
Start behind each head. Draw a second line beside the first. Stop a little above the heart's point.
Tip The neck gets a little wider towards the bottom.
Step 6: Backs and tails
From the end of each neck draw a long back. Go up to a pointed tail and stop below it.
Tip Each tail points away from the middle.
Step 7: Folded wings
On each body draw a long wing: round at the front, pointed at the back, bumpy along the bottom.
Step 8: Feather lines
Start inside each wing and draw 2 short curved feather lines.
Step 9: Wavy water
From the left edge draw a wavy water line across to the right edge, touching each chest and tail.
Tip The swans sit in the water.
Step 10: Ripples
Under each swan draw 2 short curved ripple lines in the water.
Step 11: Cream and orange
Colour the 2 wings cream and the 2 bills orange. Leave the heads, necks and bodies white.
Tip Leave the knobs and the eyes white for now.
Step 12: Blue and black
Colour the knobs black. Colour the water blue, right down to the bottom of the paper.
