How to Draw a Fishing Village
Draw a fishing village in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the water.
Step 1: The water
Draw 3 gentle wavy lines from edge to edge: one across the middle and 2 lower down.
Tip Calm harbour water has small, soft waves.
Step 2: The shore
Start at the left edge, above the water. Draw a flat line past the middle, then down to the water.
Step 3: Three houses
On the shore draw 3 boxes for the houses. Make the middle one the tallest.
Step 4: Pointy roofs
On top of each box draw a triangle roof, a little wider than the box.
Step 5: Doors and windows
Give each house a door with a round top and a little square window. The tall house gets 2.
Step 6: The jetty
From the end of the shore draw a long thin plank over the water on 3 posts. Add plank lines.
Tip The posts stand in the water, so they stop at the first wavy line.
Step 7: Fishing boat
Under the jetty, sitting in the middle waves, draw a boat hull with a flat deck and pointy front.
Tip The bottom of the boat hides under the water.
Step 8: Cabin and mast
Draw a round-top cabin with a window on the deck. Start a mast there and stop at a flag.
Step 9: Little sailboat
Draw a smaller hull on the left, facing left. Start a mast on the deck, stop, and add a sail.
Step 10: The sun
In the top right draw a round sun with 8 short rays.
Step 11: Cream and yellow
Colour the house walls cream, around the doors and windows. Colour the windows and the sun yellow.
Step 12: Red roofs
Colour the 3 roofs red. Colour the fishing boat's hull and its flag red too.
Step 13: Brown and grey
Colour the jetty, the doors and the little boat brown. Colour the shore grey.
Step 14: Blue sea
Colour the sea and the cabin window blue, around the boats. Leave the cabin and the sail white.
