How to Draw a Twin-Rotor Helicopter
Draw a twin-rotor helicopter in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long body.
Step 1: Long body
Start at the nose. Draw a long belly left, up the tall back, and along the roof to the start.
Tip Long like a flying bus, with a tall hump at the back.
Step 2: Cockpit glass
Just under the roof, draw a big rounded window that follows the nose. Leave a gap all round.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Inside the glass, draw 2 big round eyes with a gap between. Add a black dot and shine in each.
Step 4: Smile
Start under the back eye. Draw a wide U smile and stop under the front eye.
Step 5: Front rotor
By the glass, draw a tower from the roof back to the roof. Add a stalk, hub and 2 blades.
Step 6: Back rotor
On the tall back hump, draw a short stalk with a round hub. From it, draw 2 more long blades.
Tip Two rotors, no tail rotor: that makes it a twin-rotor helicopter.
Step 7: Windows and door
Along the middle of the body, draw a row of 4 round windows. Near the back, draw a tall door.
Step 8: Wheels
Under the body, draw 2 short legs hanging down, one near each end. Add a round wheel on each.
Step 9: Clouds
Draw a puffy cloud low on each side: 3 round bumps on a soft round bottom.
Step 10: Sky glass, pink cheeks
Colour the glass, windows and door sky blue. Add 2 pink cheeks by the smile. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Grey metal
Colour the hubs, stalks, all 4 blades, the legs and the wheels grey.
Step 12: Green body
Colour the body and the rotor box green around the glass, windows, door and cheeks.
