How to Draw a Trolleybus

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a trolleybus in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: headlight and hood.

Print

  1. Step 1: Headlight and hood

Left of the middle, draw a big circle with a smaller one inside. Draw a rounded hood around it.

Tip Leave the whole right side of the paper for the body.

  2. Step 2: Roof and floor

Start at the top of the hood. Draw a roof, the back, and a bumpy floor. Stop at the hood.

Tip The 2 bumps are where the wheels go.

  3. Step 3: Wheels and road

Under each bump, draw a big circle with 2 smaller circles inside. Draw a road line under the bus.

  4. Step 4: Grille and bumper

Under the headlight, draw 2 long flat lines. Add a low rounded box at the bottom for the bumper.

  5. Step 5: Windscreen and door

Just inside the front, draw a tall window leaning back. Leave a gap and draw a tall rounded door.

  6. Step 6: Side windows

Behind the door, draw 2 long rounded windows, the same height as the windscreen.

Tip Keep all the window tops on one level line.

  7. Step 7: Panes and door lines

Start at each side window top. Rule a line down the middle, stopping at the bottom. Do the door too.

Tip Add a bar across the door window and a little round handle.

  8. Step 8: Side stripe

Under the windows, draw 2 level lines a finger apart for a stripe. Skip the door.

  9. Step 9: Wire and lights

Start high at the left edge. Rule a wire to the right edge. Add a dome on each roof end.

  10. Step 10: Poles and mirror

Start on the back of the roof. Draw 2 fat sticks and stop on the wire. Add a front mirror.

Tip Each pole ends in a little cap that slides along the wire.

  11. Step 11: Windows and stripe

Colour the windows sky blue. Colour the stripe and the headlight cream.

  12. Step 12: Blue bus

Colour the bus blue around the windows, stripe, headlight and bumper. Colour the 2 roof lights red.

  13. Step 13: Grey and black

Colour the rims, hubs, bumper, mirror and poles grey. Colour the tyres black around the rims.
