How to Draw a Turkey
Draw a turkey in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big round head.
Step 1: Big round head
Near the top left, draw a big round head with a smooth dome and a tiny chin bump.
Tip Leave room on the right and below for the body.
Step 2: Beak, snood, wattle
From the head, draw a short fat beak back to it. Add a droopy snood on top, a wattle below.
Step 3: One big eye
A finger behind the beak, draw a big round eye. Fill it with a black dot, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: Plump body
Start low on the head's back. Curve down to the bottom, round a fat belly, and stop under the beak.
Tip A plump egg hanging under the head, narrower than the head.
Step 5: Big fan tail
Behind the body, draw 5 fat rounded feathers fanning out from the bottom like an open hand.
Tip All 5 start from the same spot on the bottom.
Step 6: Folded wing
Under the back of the head, draw a teardrop wing pointing at the tail. Add 2 short feather lines.
Step 7: Front leg and toes
Under the front of the tummy, draw a skinny leg with 3 toes fanning forward on the ground.
Step 8: Back leg and toes
A hand further back, draw the other leg and toes the same way.
Step 9: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line under the toes, starting and stopping a little in from the edges. Add 2 grass tufts.
Step 10: Yellow and ginger
Colour the beak, legs, toes and the second and fourth tail feathers yellow, and the other 3 ginger.
Step 11: Wood wing, red wattle
Colour the wing light wood brown, and the wattle and snood red. Go over your lines.
Step 12: Brown turkey
Colour the head and body brown around the wing, leaving the eye white. Your turkey is done!
