How to Draw a Pallas Cat

Step 1: Wide flat head

Near the top draw a big sideways egg for the head, with 2 little fur points on each cheek.

Tip The head is more than half of the whole cat.

Step 2: Tiny low ears

Low on each side of the head draw a tiny half-circle ear, no bigger than an eye.

Tip Pallas's cat ears sit low on the sides, not on top.

Step 3: Two big eyes

Below the middle of the head draw 2 big round eyes, wide apart. Add a black dot in each.

Step 4: Nose and W smile

Below the eyes draw an upside-down triangle nose and colour it in. Hang a wide W smile from its point.

Step 5: Round fluffy body

Start under each cheek. Draw a big C down and round to meet in the middle at the bottom.

Tip Make it nearly as wide as the head: this cat is very fluffy.

Step 6: Front legs

Start under the chin and draw a U leg down to a mitten paw. Add a paw curve and toes.

Tip Wide at the top, thin at the ankle. Draw both legs.

Step 7: Thick bushy tail

Behind the right side draw a fat tail that starts on the ground and bends up to a round blunt tip.

Tip Keep it thick all the way to the tip.

Step 8: Back paws

Under each side draw a small bun paw tucked behind the front paw. Add 2 toe lines.

Step 9: Whiskers

From the fur points on each cheek draw 2 whiskers out past the head.

Step 10: Spots and stripes

Draw 3 dots on the forehead. Add a short stripe under each eye, slanting out to the cheek.

Step 11: Tail rings and ground

Draw 2 curved stripes across the tail. Add a ground line: start at the left and stop past the tail.

Step 12: Cream tummy, pink ears

Colour the tummy between the front legs cream, and all 4 paws too. Colour inside each ear pink.

Step 13: Grey fur

Colour the fur grey, around the cream and pink, but not the tail tip. Leave the eyes white.

Step 14: Dark tail tip

Colour the tip of the tail dark grey, past the last stripe.
