How to Draw a Dove Flying
Draw a dove flying in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Left of the middle draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Leave room on the right for a long body.
Step 2: Small fine beak
On the front of the head, halfway down, draw a small slim triangle beak pointing left. Add a mouth line.
Tip Keep the beak short, not a long bill.
Step 3: One big eye
Behind the beak draw a big eye. Fill it with a black dot, leaving a white speck for the shine.
Step 4: Plump body
From high on the head's back, draw a long plump body to a round end, then under to the chin.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the body, so head and body are one shape.
Step 5: Fan tail
From the round end draw a fan tail with 3 round tips. Add 2 lines from the notches.
Step 6: Open wing
From the back behind the head, draw a big wing up to a round tip, then 4 soft bumps down.
Tip The wing tip goes up much higher than the head.
Step 7: A puffy cloud
Near the bottom left draw a little cloud: 3 round puffs on top and a flat bottom.
Step 8: An olive sprig
From the beak tip draw a short thin stem down to the left. Add 3 tiny pointed leaves along it.
Step 9: White dove, grey beak
Leave the head and body white like the paper, and keep the eye white. Colour the little beak grey.
Step 10: Grey wing and tail
Colour the big wing and the fan tail soft grey. Leave the cloud white.
Step 11: Green leaves
Colour the 3 little leaves on the sprig green.
