How to Draw a Turkey Hiding
Draw a turkey hiding in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top left of your paper, draw a big round head, a little wider than tall.
Tip Leave room on the right and underneath for the body and bush.
Step 2: Beak, wattle and snood
From the head, draw a fat beak back to it. Hang a droopy snood over it, a long wattle under.
Step 3: One big eye
Behind the beak, a finger back, draw a big round eye with a big black dot and a white shine.
Tip Leave a strip of cheek between the beak and the eye.
Step 4: Plump body
Start low on the back of the head. Draw a plump egg body hanging down, and stop at the wattle.
Tip The body is narrower than the head, so the head stays big.
Step 5: Big fan tail
Behind the head and back, draw 5 fat rounded feathers fanning out like an open hand.
Step 6: Folded wing
Start under the middle of the head. Draw a wing curve down and round, stopping on the back.
Step 7: Bush and ground
In front, draw a bush of 7 bumps, low left to low right. Add a ground line edge to edge.
Tip Only the head and tail fan peek out over the bush.
Step 8: Berries
Dot 7 little round berries all over the bush, away from its edge.
Step 9: Yellow beak and fan
Colour the beak yellow, and the second and fourth tail feathers yellow too.
Step 10: Ginger fan, wood wing
Colour the other 3 tail feathers ginger, and the wing light wood brown.
Step 11: Red wattle and berries
Colour the wattle, the snood and the berries red.
Step 12: Brown turkey, green bush
Colour the turkey brown around the wing and wattle, leaving the eye white. Colour the bush green around the berries.
