How to Draw a Flea
Draw a flea in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a small head.
Step 1: A small head
On the left, halfway down the page, draw a small egg head on its side, round on top, flatter underneath.
Tip A flea has a tiny head and a big humped body.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big egg eyes with a black dot and white shine.
Step 3: An open smile
Under the eyes, draw an open smile: a flat line with a wide U below it.
Step 4: Short feelers
Start on top of the head. Draw 2 short feelers going up, one leaning left, each stopping at a ball.
Step 5: A big humped body
Start on top of the head. Draw a big egg leaning back in a high hump, stopping under the head.
Tip The hump is the flea's back: much taller than the head.
Step 6: Body rings
Across the hump, draw 3 curved lines like smiles, one above the other, from the front edge to the back.
Step 7: A huge jumping leg
From low on the back, draw a fat thigh up to a knee, then a thin shin to a foot.
Tip The giant back leg has a high knee and an oval foot: champion jumper!
Step 8: Two small legs
Under the body, draw 2 short bent legs down to the ground, one forward and one back, with oval feet.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a ground line under the feet, from one side of the page to the other.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, red smile
Colour a soft pink cheek each side of the smile, and the open mouth red.
Step 11: Brown flea
Colour the head, body and feeler balls brown, around the cheeks and mouth. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Dark brown legs
Colour the big leg, the 2 small legs and their feet dark brown.
